Shaved-head scalp micropigmentation

Plan the hairline, the blend and the haircut you would need to maintain.

Start with your everyday haircut

A closely shaved SMP design aims to give the appearance of small follicles on exposed scalp. Discuss how short you currently keep your hair and whether you are comfortable maintaining the length the practitioner recommends. The appearance of pigment needs to work with the hair that remains at the sides and back.

Agree on the hairline before treatment

Ask to see the proposed height, shape and edges before you commit. Bring examples of the look you prefer, then ask the artist to explain what would suit your existing pattern. A photograph of someone else cannot establish how the same design would look on your head. Avoid choosing a design solely from a fresh, tightly cropped image.

Request healed examples of shaved work

Ask for photographs in clear lighting, at a similar haircut length and from several angles. Confirm which artist performed the work and when the photographs were taken. Discuss how blending and any follow-up adjustments will be assessed once the skin has healed.

Put the maintenance plan in writing

Ask about shaving, sun exposure, aftercare and future touch-ups. The practitioner should explain the timing for your case. If you are traveling, confirm the session schedule and how questions will be handled after you return home.

Where to continue your research

Browse Texas city guides and the Plano SMP guide for a local provider reference and consultation questions. For a Colombia option, our form opens WhatsApp with Pigment Pro in the Medellín area. Confirm that the practitioner can assess the treatment you are considering.

Tattooing carries infection, allergy and unwanted pigment risks. Ask about equipment, pigment handling and the response to a complication. Read the clinical and FDA sources and discuss suitability with an appropriate professional.
